Atlantic National...

I went to the Atlantic National car show on Main street in Moncton today. There were some nice cars there. The set up was a bit "tight" and it was pretty crowded. But I got a few "random" shots that I like... Most of them are not your everyday photos of classic cars... But I like them. :)

Danielle & Luke...

When I was starting to shoot models, I met this beautiful young lady who called herself Dee.

Over the past few years she has taken up photography as well as being a great model. And, she is also a good friend.

Dee is soon going to be a mother... She asked me to take a few photos of her with her "man" Luke.

I am more comfortable shooting indoors with artificial light...  But I jumped at the opportunity to gain some experience shooting outdoors in natural light. Although, I did use a fill flash to help minimize any shadows.

Here are a few of my favorites, in black and white, from our shoot... The photos were takes at Victoria Park in Moncton at about 7pm.

Although Danielle and Luke are not maried, I think that Danielle and Luke make a great couple. And I feel honored that I was chosen to capture some memories of this special time in their lives. :)

Canada Day...

My dad, Linda, and I went to the Canada Day Fireworks show in Greater Moncton tonight...

We went a few hours early, and saw a few of the band playing... Including Platinum Blonde. Who gave me flashbacks to my high school days... :)

Here are afew of the photos I took while we were there.

* I edited these images on my laptop. I hope they turned out ok...

PinkBlitz Magazine...

I shot these at the begining of June... But I couldn't post them until the July 1st edition of PinkBlitz Magazine was published. So... here we go...

I've been an artist since before I was in elementary school. Mostly drawing and painting; although I've dabbled with many different forms of art in my life.

As I grew older: When I was almost out of high school: I started to show an interested in photography. However, the massive expense of buying film and paying for processing, plus the investment required for other camera gear and upgrades, kept me from pursuing photography as anything more than a hobby.

In the mid "90s" when I was working and had more disposable income, I decided to invest in the Canon EOS camera system. I chose the Canon way rather than Nikon, Pentax, Minolta (now Sony) or any of the others in the industry. I bought an SLR or (Single Lens Refles) camera: The original Canon EOS Rebel 35mm film camera. I upgraded a few times, until in around 2000 I purchased my last film based camera (the Canon EOS Elan II).

A few years later; around 2004 or so, I finally took the plunge into the world of digital photography. I purchased a small point and shoot digital camera for family events and "stuff".

That's when my life as a photographer really began. I started learning more about photography and started taking it more seriously.

Since then I've upgraded some of my gear and I purchased my first digital SLR camera. And yes, I am still a Canon shooter. :)

I am constantly learning how to be a better photographer. My photography Website shows the past few years of my journey to become a better photographer.

Recently, I tried something that for me, is a bit different: Natural light photography with no light modifiers.

I am mostly a studio photographer and I specialize in "people" photography. I tend to do mostly beauty and fashion type portraits; working indoors with artificial light (flashes and strobes).

However, Sometimes, I like to diversify and try new things as a photographer.. So, when I was invited by PinkBlitz Magazine to take photos of some local models at the beach: I accepted the offer and treated it as a challenge and a learning experience.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day: A few of them were published in the July issue of PinkBlitz Magazine...

My thanks to the young ladies who came out and allowed me to capture a few images of them.

As you can see: I edited most of my photos to black and white. The bright mid-afternoon  sun was quite harsh and caused some nasty shadows.

I was only able to be there for a few hours. But I got to work with some talented young models: Some of whom I'd met before, and some I had not.

It was a great experience. The wind was a bit chilly on the beach... But, I was able to meet a few new people, gain some experience in natural light photography and I got some decent results. :)

Thank you to PinkBlitz Magazine for the opportunity and to all the models, makeup artists, and stylists who were involved. I hope I get the chance to work with you again... :)

Abby Bustin...

I had an opportunity  to work with another aspiring  young model from the Greater Moncton area today.

Abby was a very nice young lady and even though she is rather new to the modeling world... She was quite easy to work with.

It was a fun shoot. Abby was very impressive as a starting young model. I think she has a great deal of potential.
