Now even further out of my grasp...

Those of you who know me are likely aware that I aspire to be a professional photographer. And, although I am well on my way to accomplishing that goal, I am still working towards it and trying to improving as I go.

I've been working wtth cameras for many years now and have pretty much always been an artist.

Today, I noticed that the camera that is at the top of my wishlist was upgraded and the latest model is a significant improvement over what I currently have. Unfortunately, the $4000 (for the body alone) puts it even further out of my reach.

I will make due with what I have of course.... But damn, I wish I wasn't poor! lol

Maybe one day, it will be within mt grasp....

A few years back, I published a "wish list" including some of the photographu gear I would like to have.

Today, the camera body on that list was upgraded. But, otherwise The list remains the same. Here is a link to my original "wish list".

Addiction...

Throughout my life, I've faced a few ups and downs.

One of the low points was my battle with Cancer in 1983 and the side effects of which I am still trying to cope with.

Over the years, art has always been part of my life. Whether it was painting, drawing, playing music, or capturing photos... I guess you could say I am addicted to art.

Another of my lifelong addictions, involves caffeine. In particular, Coka Cola. I used to drink 2-4 litres of the stuff every day. And, I have always been partial to junk food and sweets. So, I wasn't really surprises a few years ago when I was diagnosed with Diabetes.

Although I have cut back my caffeine intake considerably; I still drink a few cans of Coke Zero (sugar free) per day. Another addiction that I can't defeat...

The point? Well, I had yet another young model cancel on me with very short notice.

I like to support models who are new to the industry.... But, I must say, last minute cancelations and no shows make me wonder....

Anyway, I took a shot of one of my addictions today... The model didn't move much.... But still...

I am still trying to kick this habit.... But hey, I have never acquired a taste for coffee.

More from Ava Lee...

A few days ago, I had a cancelation in my shooting schedule for today. So I posted a last minute model call on the local Facebook group. It didn't take long before a local model that I have worked with in the past got in touch with me.

Ava Lee reached out and offered to fill the spot. :) I wasquite happy with the overall results.

Here are a few of my favorite imagess from the day...

Ava is relatively new to the modeling scene. but, I believe she has the talent and potential to go far in the industry. :)

To my fellow photographers in the Greater Moncron Area: I recommend working with her.

Platinum Blonde...

One of my favorite bands of the 1980's was Platinum Blonde.

I saw them live a few times when they came to Moncton in the 80's. To this day I have kept much of their music in my MP3 collection.

At the 2014 Canada day celebration, Platinum Blonde performed before the fireworks display. I posted a few photos of the fireworks display, but I never posted any shots of the band.

I was browsing through some of the photos I took this year and thought I'd share these...

Zumba....

Recently, my wife participated in the Zumba Party in Pink fund raiser with Marlyse Vilela Loureiro. I donated a free photo session to help support the Breast Imaging Services at the Moncton Hospital.

It was a good session and I was happy with the results considering my small studio space.
