bah

Unfortunately, my life has taken a turn for the worse.  This turn has adversely affected my vision, making photography imposible for me at this time.  My vision has been improving over the past year, but my doctors have been telling me that my vision loss may be permanent.  I hope they are wrong.  I really enjoyed photography and miss it very much.

Anyway, I ran across this video about Ansel Adams and I thought I'd share.  Hopefully, I can get back behind the camera soon.

Caleb

It is a definite challenge to find any male models in the Greater Moncton area. However, I was very fortunate to find Caleb.

He was quite easy to work with and I was quite happy with the resulting photos from our session today.

I haven't finished editing all of the images from our shoot. However, I chose a few of my favorites to share.

Thanks for the photo shoot Caleb. And good luck with your career.

Something New

I visited the Riverview Skate Park this afternoon.

It was a pretty quite afternoon. There were only a couple people there.

My main goal was to check out the lighting situation and judge the photo opportunities... Since I've never shot skateboarding before.

The Riverview skate park is extremelly challenging to shoot, due to the low light level and the limited gear I have. I will definitely return another time. And attempt to get a few more shots.

I did manage to get a couple photos while experimenting with different camera settings to see what I would need.

I'm sure I'll get more results next time I visit.

Varsity football

It was a disapointing night for me as a photographer.

I discovered that the low light performance of my camera is unacceptable at 3200 ISO. I suspected as much, but now I know for certain.

The sun was setting when the game started, and within a short time the sky was too dark for the equipment I have.

The lighting at Rocky stone field in Moncton and the limited low light performance of my camera and lens, just aren't good enough for outdoor sports at night.

I did manage to salvage a few shots before the sun dropped too low, so I thought I'd share.

As I mentioned previously the game took place at Rockystone field in Moncton. The combatants were the Riverview High School RoyalsVarsity team (white helmets) against Ecole Odyssée varsity football teams. And the Royalsd emerged victorious.

The Royal's next game takes place during the day. Hhopefully, I will be able to attend and get some more pictures.
